But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

TOPIC: TO THE END

AIM:

To encourage believers to persevere consistently to the end.

PROPOSITION:

Those who persevere to the end shall be saved

INTRODUCTION

Those who set up on their course of journey or project with the " end" in mind, tend to keep their focus on the end and are not distracted by what they come across in the process.

TRANSITIONAL

We are admonished (encouraged) in the word..Hebrews 12: 1-2 to look unto Jesus  ( as we run the race) because he is the Author and the Finisher of our Faith.

The Theme here is about enduring hardship to the end. 2Tim 2:3

TERMS:

Endure - suffer patiently. To remain firm under suffering (Merrian Webster Dictionary)

To endure is to keep your focus underpain or suffering  with patience up to the end.

ENDURANCE needs

1. PATIENCE

2. PERSISTENCE

3. PERSEVERANCE

4. PURPOSE

5. POWER

1. PATIENCE

Patience is the  capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset. (Dictionary). To them that believe patience is part if the fruit of the spirit, cultivated by living according to the standards and dictates of the Word. Gal. 5:22. Patience will bring us to the end.

2. PERSISTENCE

Firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. (Dictionary)

The key word here (persistence) is continuance under pressure of pain or opposition. It carries the attitude of being obstinate ( non yielding).

Obstinate means stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or chosen course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so. (Online dictionary). Persistence will land us to the end.

3. PERSEVERANCE

It means to continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success. (Dictionary).

This is not an act of blind faith, to keep going even when the prospects ahead seem to be  dimmed by the clouds of challenges. Perseverance has greater reward. Perseverance  will pull us to the end.

4. PURPOSE

There is a great reward in purpose. Purpose is like vision. In vision you see the desired goal in its complete picture before it is given birth to. In purpose you see and understand the reason for being, or the reason for the undertaking.

As children of God we know that we are called to accomplished a purpose. David served God's purpose in his generation. Purpose will take us to the end.

5. POWER

Power is the energy that drives us forward. It is like vision and purpose. We need some impetus to move us forward under all the situations and difficulties of life. Those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ have the privilege of the indwelling Holy Spirit who becomes the source of power to keep them moving forward .Acts 1:8 promises power that transcends territorial boundaries and spiritual forces.

Power will sustain us to the end.

ENDURE TO THE END AND YOU SHALL BE SAVED.
